Iron Horse Image is on the White Pass & Yukon Railroad

Updated: Mar 2, 2022

The White Pass & Yukon Railroad, based in Skagway Alaska, was built in 1900 to haul gold out of the mining regions of the Yukon. From 1942 to 1945, The US Army leased and operated the White Pass with select military personnel trained for the job. A new book tells tells of one man's unique, historic wartime story from family saved letters, photos and other media. It's history, direct from the man who experienced it over 75 years ago! See "The Military Railroad Journey of Chicago & Northwestern Locomotive Engineer Frank Pelletier, 1942 to 1945 and Beyond".
